This work will survey the entire range of thinking in psychology, from ancient times to the present, encompassing philosophies and theories of mind that pre-date our modern conception of psychology as a science, and extending to the current findings of neuroscience. It will set the theories into their historical context and cross-reference key influences, such as Darwin’s on Freud. Fifteen hundred entries will comprise key figures, theoretical concepts, false theories, historical events, and seminal writings. International in scope, this project will involve history of psychology experts from around the world and the coverage of topics will be set in global context. The aim will be to provide a reference work of more depth than discussions that are currently available in textbooks, with the ability to connect to a multitude of relevant topics. This work will provide a picture of psychology as it has emerged into the present time and position it among other related fields such as anthropology, sociology, philosophy, and medicine.

I am, by training, a psychologist who designs products, solutions, and services so that they will be easy to use. Currently I am an independent consultant, speaker/presenter and educator in Human Factors, Ergonomics, User Experience, Learning, Leadership, Career Development and Human Resources.

I have worked as a human factors professional, manager, and corporate coordinator at IBM.  My IBM positions have also included managing technical learning and new employee orientation world wide.  I have also managed IBM's external employee education program in the USA and career coaching in North Carolina.  Two of my learning programs, one of which I managed (new employee orientation) and one of which I designed (Blue Opportunities) have won major awards (ASTD Excellence in Practice Award and SHRM Innovative Business Solution Award).

My Education By Entertainment program content is applicable on the job, at home and at school.  The programs are also a ton of fun (more than many parties)!!!

Overview: Education by Entertainment programs provide learning which is directly applicable and useful at work, school, and/or home.  This presentation features six slides showing objectives and activities from a typical Education by Entertainment program.  Our programs provide learning opportunities which should help the attendees improve their focus on safety, job &amp; school performance, customer service, communication &amp; understanding, thinking &amp; learning as well as their morale.   The content is easy to remember.  Additionally, our programs are fun; more fun than most parties.  They provide recognition opportunities for special people, too.

That’s My Mom: An Effective Career Orientation Program For Middle School and High School Students

That’s My Mom is an outstanding interactive TV Game Show Style Career  Development Program for middle and high school students.  

The objectives of the program include:
  .increasing parent/child communication
  .encouraging middle and high school students to:
  .learn about a variety of careers 
  .begin to think about their own eventual careers
  .having fun!!! 

Teams of four mothers and their daughters from the audience are called on stage.  The moms blindfold their daughters.  The blindfolded daughters ask the moms yes or no questions about their work.  Moms answer the questions by holding up a YES or NO sign.  Daughters are told what the sign says.  When the daughters are ready, they specify which mom they think is theirs.  The daughters probability of being correct is normally at chance level.  Moms then explain their careers.  This is an excellent program for schools, youth groups, and days when children may be invited to the workplace.
