He worked for 35 years on the staff of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania, including a term as Democratic Chief Counsel to the House of Representatives and as the Caucus's first Compliance & Ethics Director.  He is a past board chair of the American College of Counselors and the American Board of Forensic Counselors and now serves on the board of directors of the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium and the National Qigong Association.

Dr Sloane serves as president of the President of the Military Order of Saint Sebastian, called of The Arrow, and first vice president of the Royal Confraternity of Saint Theotonius.  He has been admitted to five learned societies in the U.K.:  Fellow of The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce; Fellow of The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland; Fellow of The Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland; Fellow of The Royal Statistical Society; and Fellow of The Royal Society for Public Health.

He is a life member of the Air & Space Forces Association, Clan Wallace Society Worldwide, Mansfield Law Club (U.K.), Mensa, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International.  He is a member of the International Scientific College of the International Academy of Sciences San Marino and a 45-year member of the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
